Senator Frank Feighan

Frank Feighan is a Senator in the 25th Seanad having been nominated by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny T.D. in May 2016. A native of Boyle in North Roscommon, Frank was first elected to the Dáil in the 2007 General Election. He was elected chair of the Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement on July 22, 2014. He was appointed as Fine Gael’s Front Bench Spokesperson on Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs in July 2010. He was formerly a member of the Seanad, elected on the Administrative Panel in July 2002 and during that time he was Spokesperson on Arts, Sports and Tourism in the Upper House. Frank was first elected to Roscommon County Council in 1999 for the Boyle electoral area, topping the poll. 

Frank lived in both Australia and the States in the 1980s and has a background as a self-employed businessperson. He loves music and he is a member of Boyle Musical Society and his local choir. He took part in RTE’s You’re A Star in 2006 to help raise money for charity. His musical tastes range from opera and classical, to U2 and Frank Sinatra. Frank’s favourite film is ‘Titanic’ and his favourite saying is ‘That’s life’.
