St. Pat’s do Inchicore proud – Byrne
2nd November 2014 - Fine Gael Press Office
Fine Gael Dublin South Central TD, Catherine Byrne, has today (Sunday) congratulated St. Patrick’s Athletic for their win in the FAI Cup Final.
“St. Pat’s have done Inchicore proud today, winning the FAI Cup Final in a great game against Derry City.
“I wish to congratulate the players, their manager Liam Buckley and all the backroom staff on this fantastic achievement. The Saints’ 53-year long wait to win the cup is finally over, and they should all be very proud.
“St Pats are a huge inspiration to young people in Inchicore. Long may they continue to lead by example and show children that playing sport is not only good for your health and wellbeing, but it is also possible to achieve big things if you work hard at what you do.
“There will be great celebrations in Inchicore this week after this fantastic result. I hope the team might bring the cup to local schools and chat to kids about their big achievement. This is local team who’ve done Inchicore proud and I know everyone will want to share in the success.”
