Streamlining of workplace relations bodies is positive for workers – Kyne
8th July 2014 - Fine Gael Press Office
Fine Gael TD for Galway West, Sean Kyne, has welcomed the streamlining of workplace relations bodies, saying it is a positive move for workers.
“This week in the Dáil I raised the matter of the merging of five State workplace relations bodies into two, in order to streamline workplace relations services. This is an extremely positive move for workers in my opinion, as it will bring about a more cost efficient and user friendly service.
“In particular I questioned Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, on whether or not fees would apply, emphasising the need to avoid a financial impediment for people wishing to avail of the services.
“I was very pleased to hear the Minister confirm that he would not be introducing fees for access to the services of the Workplace Relations Commission. This is very welcome and ensures that no worker will be barred from access workplace relations services for financial reasons.”
