Tánaiste appoints Emer Currie TD Deputy Government Whip

The Tánaiste Simon Harris has appointed Emer Currie TD as the Deputy Government Whip alongside the Junior Minister appointments announced today.
Speaking on the appointment, the Tánaiste and Fine Gael Leader Simon Harris said: “Emer Currie will play an important role in ensuring the functioning of this new Government. Her new role requires extensive engagement with parliamentary party colleagues and a good knowledge of the functioning of the Oireachtas so we can pass legislation efficiently. I am delighted she will play an important role in our party, supporting the Government as we set about delivering for the people of Ireland.”
Emer Currie has served in the Oireachtas since 2020 when she became a Senator. She was elected to the Dáil in the recent general election for the Dublin West Constituency.
Deputy Currie said, “I am delighted to be appointed Deputy Government Whip by the Tánaiste today. I am looking forward to working with him and other Government and parliamentary colleagues to progress legislation on important areas.”
