Garret Kelleher

Garret represents the South-West ward on Cork City Council. Married to Leona with four children. Graduated from UCC with a BComm before completing a Master’s Degree in Government (MBS). One of 25 councillors from across the country to complete the CPD Certificate in The Climate Crisis and Local Government in its first intake in 2022.

He is chairperson of the Michael Collins Commemoration Committee (Béal na Blá) and was centrally involved in the organisation of the televised Michael Collins Centenary Commemoration in 2022. Previously worked in the European Commission in Brussels and Luxembourg, in the Directorate General for Health & Consumer Protection and served on the European Health Security Committee and the European Stockpiling Committee.

Member of the Fine Gael Northern Ireland Engagement Group and looks upon positive cross-border, cross-community engagement as being of crucial importance to building the mutual respect and trust required to help shape a brighter future for the whole island of Ireland.

Locally, Garret is a proud volunteer and committee member with Ballincollig Tidy Towns, which was named Ireland’s Tidiest Large Urban Centre at the National Tidy awards in 2023.
