Rory Cocking
Rory Cocking is a Fine Gael Local Election Candidate for the Midleton Electoral Area.
As a native of Midleton and a resident of the town, he is well acquainted with local education, infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, fishing and business needs and the representation and investment necessary for these sectors to prosper.
A graduate of politics and international relations, he has worked as a Parliamentary Assistant in Dáil Éireann and in the Cork East Constituency Fine Gael office for more than six years.
Working at community level, Rory is eager to continue to advocate for electoral area needs by ensuring a strong, consistent voice in local government.
Campaign Priorities
- Ensure the progression of flood relief programmes for East Cork and interim prevention measures.
- Strengthen local opportunities for our business and tourism sectors.
- Support local agriculture, fishing, food and tourism initiatives.
- Address the issue of vacant and derelict buildings.
- Promote road safety improvements and tackle littering and fly-tipping.
- Address the increasing local demand for school places, special school places and associated transport.
- Develop much-needed local recreational amenities.
