Steve O’Reilly

Local Election Candidate

Electoral Area: Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart

Fingal County Council

Steve O’Reilly

My name is Steve O’Reilly; I was co-opted as a member of Fingal County Council in February 2024, to replace Punam Rane. I have been living in the Blanchardstown and Mulhuddart area for over 11 years.

I have long had a genuine interest in local matters and politics; for this reason I joined Fine Gael in 2019. I am now contesting the local election as a new candidate for our area.

I am a local activist working with the Fine Gael team on the ground, addressing community concerns on issues that affect them and highlighting these to our representatives, An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Senator Emer Currie and our Fingal County Councillors, as well as helping out with local clean-ups and speaking with local sports clubs and groups. My experience from knocking on doors and listening to the community has allowed me to develop a strong knowledge of matters that need to be addressed and improved for the benefit of all. I would like to help contribute further to improving amenities, developing the infrastructure and advocating for our residents.

MY PRIORITIES – I am focused on addressing the following issues throughout our community:

  • More affordable and social housing
  • Primary & Secondary school availability
  • Improving Public transport
  • Reducing anti-social behaviour
  • Greater mental health services
  • Decreasing litter and illegal dumping

I hope to meet as many of you as possible over the next few months in the lead up to the Local Elections, if there is anything at all that I can help with, please do let me know.

Thank you for your time and I would appreciate your support.

Steve
