My name is Damien Donoghue, and I am your new Fine Gael Local Election Candidate in the Piltown Electoral Area. I have lived in Ferrybank area, Bellfield, for the last seven years with my wife and young family. I am passionate about improving the lives of our local community to ensure to ensure Ferrybank is the best place to live, work and raise your family.
I am currently active in a range of community organisations including Chair of Bellfield Housing Estate, Ferrybank new playground park, Local school Board of Management. I also coach with Ferrybank GAA and Ferrybank AFC.
My background is in hotel and business management, including security and health and safety roles. I am currently training to be a Special Needs Assistant.
I believe Ferrybank needs a strong voice to enable our community to reach its potential. I have the time, energy and commitment for the role.
A strong voice for Ferrybank
My priorities are to:
- Be a strong voice for the Ferrybank area by working alongside engineers and council staff on current and future local developments.
- Address and solve current issues in Ferrybank, water quality and flooding, lack of parking and illegal dumping.
- Develop more businesses in the Ferrybank area from the developments of the Greenway and North Quays.
- Supporting local sports and youth clubs.
- Ensure access in Ferrybank to services for the elderly and those who require specialist supports.
