Caitríona Bergin is a passionate and dedicated community leader who is running for Fine Gael in the upcoming 2024 local elections. She is committed to improving the quality of life for all in North Leitrim.
Caitríona has a proven track record of working collaboratively with community groups and local council officials to achieve positive change. She is a strong advocate for environmental sustainability, social justice, and mental health awareness.
Caitríona’s experience as a serial entrepreneur has given her insights into small business development. Her current venture, ‘Caitriona’s Cottages’, has given her a passion for promoting and marketing North Leitrim. She wants to boost tourism, grow the economy, and create jobs.
Caitríona has experience in many areas, including digital marketing, tourism, feasibility studies, and grant applications. She was the first person to lead the development of women’s rugby in Ireland within the IRFU. Her passion for gender equity led her to create the Women in Construction & Quarrying Ireland Steering group, which aims to make pathways for girls and women into those industries.
Caitríona is a strong advocate for safer streets, stronger communities, supporting local tourism and enterprise, improved community facilities, supporting farming and rural communities, affordable housing, and accessible planning.
She lives by two sayings: “Be the change that you wish to see in the world” (Mahatma Gandhi) and “Ní neart go cur le Chéile”.
