Niall Gannon
Niall Gannon is a new Fine Gael local election candidate in Longford town. Married to Orlaith, he is a proud parent of four young children. His commitment to education has been evident since 1998, when he began teaching at St. Michael’s BNS, Longford. For eight years, Niall served as the school’s home-school liaison officer, ensuring that local families received the best possible educational support.
Beyond the classroom, Niall is an active member of several community organisations, including the Longford Musical Society, Backstage Theatre, and Longford Town FC. His involvement extends to charitable events in both the town and county. Additionally, Niall spent four years as the President of Longford Lions Club
As a founding member of the Longford Triathlon Club, he promotes health and fitness and is coach to various underage sports teams.
As a first-time candidate, Niall want to hear from the local community on how to enhance Council services and facilities for those who call Longford home. His priorities include advocating for more affordable housing, improving community facilities, and contributing to the regeneration of Longford town center.
Niall values every vote and pledges to work tirelessly if elected, ensuring a brighter future for the people of Longford.
