Fergal Nealon

Fergal Nealon, Fine Gael local election candidate in Sligo-Strandhill is originally from Cairns Road, Sligo now living in Strandhill with his partner Siobhan and three young daughters. He is a Business Development Manager and a passionate and dedicated community activist. From a political family, he is now wants to give something back to his local community.

Fergal has a proven track record of working collaboratively with community groups and councils to create effective engagement campaigns, encouraging participation, building trust and influencing positive changes.  He co-created Ireland’s first participatory grant making campaign with Cork City Council in 2019.

He founded Rapid Response Ukraine, raised over €150,000 and organised hundreds of deliveries of medical equipment directly to the front lines.

Locally he is the fundraiser on the Strandhill N.S Parents Association as well as having an active role in Local Residents and sporting organisations.  Driven to succeed, he has a passion for community action and a desire to make meaningful, impactful, positive change in Sligo Town and Strandhill.
He is an active cyclist, swimmer, hiker and member of the County Sligo Surf Club, enjoys the outdoors and recognises first-hand the benefits this brings to our physical and mental health.
