Laurie Kearon is the Fine Gael Local Election candidate in  is happily married to Stephen Kearon and is a devoted mother of five children: Eleanor, James, Daniel, Saoirse and Oisin. She takes immense joy in her role as a grandmother to three boys: Sean, Arlo, and Dante. Living in Ballinaclash for over 24 years, Laurie has actively contributed to public service. For nearly two years, she has served as a civil servant at Wicklow County Council, following a successful 20-year tenure as an Examiner of Maps in the Property Registration Authority of Ireland where Laurie demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning, having successfully completed a Land Law and Succession course with Institute of Technology, Carlow. Notably, during the challenging times of the Covid era, she seized the opportunity to enhance her skills and knowledge by completing leadership and management courses with UCD, in addition to Presentation Skills training and Autocad courses with the Dublin Institute of Design.

Beyond her professional achievements, Laurie’s diverse interests reflect her multifaceted nature. She holds a keen interest in politics. She finds delight in exploring different cultures through travel and a passion for various cuisines. Laurie enjoys motor sports, specifically off-roading and vintage cars, with a particular affinity for Landrovers and Formula 1 racing.

Moreover, Laurie actively participates in the breeding and showcasing of Purebred Welsh Mountain ponies and other equestrian interests and is deeply committed to the welfare of all animals. Her artistic inclinations extend to calligraphy and the world of art. She also fervently follows rugby, supporting teams such as Leinster and Ireland, and especially enjoys the passion of GAA football, notably in support of Avondale (Rathdrum) and Wicklow teams.
